I just read the most fabulous book.  It is called Leadership and Self Deception, by the Arbinger Institute.  If you have ever wondered what it takes to be a true leader, whether it's in your own life, in your relationships or in your business, I found this book to be a simple way of explaining true leadership.  I found it resonated well with my values and very easily explained what common blockages I find myself stuck in when I am striving to be a leader in my life.  The book explains the difference between living "in the box" or leading from "outside the box".  Outside-the-box leadership is about being of service to our world, being egoless and authentically loving and supporting – I llove this definition.  To find out more, check out http://www.arbinger.com/en/bookstore.html#leadershipandselfdeception

The past two weeks have been a whirlwind of new routines, new clients, new schedules and new opportunities – how amazing.  I feel blessed. I have been experiencing all this newness in my life with excited anticipation and admittedly, some anxiety.  I appreciate how "newness" or change can be a bit nerve-racking and this time of year, for many of us, stress levels are high due to our adjustments to these changes.  What have I learned?  I have found it important to find time for myself regularly during this time of newness in my life.  When I carve out time for myself, I have to make sure that my family and loved ones know what I need and I ensure I take the time to exercise, journal, do yoga and be by myself.   Sometimes it's hard to justify devoting time to yourself – I know what self-resistance can feel like – but I know it does me good and therefore, makes it good for all those with whom I come in contact.  I am a priority in my life.  Are you in your life?
