ay at our friends' cottage with no power.  No water, no electricity, no appliances.  And guess what?  It was the best few days I can remember at the cottage.  It was because everything was simple.  We talked more, cooked together, slept more, played more, enjoyed the sun and water and just soaked up the nature that surrounded us.  What have I learned?  That simple is good. Really good.  We have so many things that distract us from all the important things in life.  So, turn off the TV, Blackberry, laptop, computer game or IPOD and instead, ask questions, get curious, close your eyes, get in the moment and just STOP the craziness.  There is so much beauty in each moment - let's not keep missing them.

Greatness Tip!

It seems, every week, certain themes come up for my clients.  Last week, our conversations revolved around our truths and living authentically; this week, it was all about living a life with intention.

Having an intention about something in the future is like consciously making your wishes come true! Having an intention means that you have faith that something will happen in the way that you want - then you surrender to that faith and wait for it to happen!  Wishing for something is entirely different.  A wish is about hope, uncertainty, even a yearning whereas having an intention is about faith, certainty, trust and knowing.

It could be as simple as finding the best parking spot.  I have a strong intention that I always find good parking, anywhere I go.  I am so certain about it that my kids always request that I drive when we go somewhere that is crowded because "mom always gets a good spot"!!  Now that's just parking!  Imagine the power of intention when you apply it to bigger, more important aspects of your life!  Try it out! Try it with the next meeting you have scheduled - how would you like it to go?  What is your intention for the outcome of the meeting?  What about the next conversation you have with your spouse over a "touchy" subject?  What is your intention?  In Wayne Dyer's book, The Power of Intention, he provides us with great insight on this powerful, universal tool/energy to live your best life.  Check it out at www.drwaynedyer.com.

Personal Reflection: What Have I Learned?

I realize that I really do take a lot for granted.  It was very apparent to me this week.  Over 150,000 homes lost power in Ontario this week due to a tremendous wind storm on Wednesday night.  We spent Thursday to Saturday at our friends' cottage with no power.
